Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “7 Years of 70 Series — 11 GPUs Tested @ 1440p — AMD vs Nvidia — World of Tanks”.
Hello and welcome to tech deals seven years of 70 series with bonuses. This is an ongoing series that i have expanded to include more cards than just the 70 series from nvidia. This is world of tanks 2.0. This is the updated game engine which was released recently, and this is not a 70 series card that you are looking at. It is a gtx 960., now just a four gigabyte version.

If you look at the vram usage in the upper left-hand corner, you’ll notice that we’re using 3.3 gigabytes of vram, a two gigabyte card is not enough to run world of tanks 2.0. In ultra detail, however, you could run medium detail and be just fine. This is 1440p, it’s not that fast and frankly, you need to run medium detail at 1440p in order to get decent performance, but you could also run 1080p ultra detail and get away with it just turn textures down a notch or two, because if you don’t have Four gigabytes of vram: it won’t be enough. Now, i’m going to show you half of this benchmark with the 960 and as a bonus half with the 1060, because well, neither one of those are 70 series cards, but a ton of you own, a gtx 1060 and even in 2021. It’S still a good card. 75 frames per second average, with a one percent low of 51.

for a five-year-old 250 video card that gtx 1060 still has it today, and it demonstrates that you don’t have to spend huge money just to play games and have fun now. This is the world of tanks, 2.0 encore, built-in benchmark. The actual game is not always going to run just like this, and, of course the actual game is in constant development, whereas the benchmark is kind of a point in time. But this gives you an idea of.

What’S possible, it gives you a benchmark to work from, even if the game runs a little bit worse in real life, if you’re, okay, with 60 plus frames per second most of the time at 1440p, at ultra detail, this isn’t bad want more frame rate turn it Down to medium detail and you’ll, get more frames per second run at 1080p and you’ll get well over 100 frames per second in world of tanks on this graphics card. Stay tuned. To the end of this video, where i have included the much requested but often neglected, gtx 1660, super and you’ll get to see how well it performs compared to the 1060. spoiler alert it’s faster, but that should surprise absolutely none of you and i’ve got eight more Cards to show you four from nvidia and four from amd.

Today’S video is brought to you by urcd keys, the best source for windows, 10 and office professional product keys at deeply discounted prices more details at the end of the video starting off. With these seven years of 70 series, we have the 970 in the upper left-hand corner that 1070 in the upper right, the 20-70 in the bottom left and finally, the 30-70 in the bottom right. Those numbers are very hard to see on the screen halfway through the benchmark. I will zoom it in so you can see them, but at the moment i want you to get a chance to see the full screen benchmark for each one. So it’s kind of a hybrid where you get to see half with the numbers and half with the entire image. These are all remarkably playable.

Take a look in the upper left hand corner the seven year old, gtx 970. Four gigabyte card, which was 329 when it launched back in 2014, so long ago, is comfortably above 60 frames per. Second now, as i said before, live gameplay is going to be different. One percent loads are going to be different, get into a real battle with a real server and, of course, the game continues to be updated. It’S a service game and it may dip down a bit fine if you’ve got a seven-year-old card and you want to play at 1440p, set the details to medium and, frankly, it’ll be just fine. I can hear the comment section already come on tech.

These cards are so fast, this game’s not that hard to run. Why aren’t you showing us 4k? Well, i could. But if you want to play at 4k, then you care about the pretties and frankly, they’ll be just fine. The reason is high. Refresh rate monitors. Take a look at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen right now with the rtx 2070. We are currently averaging 131 frames per. Second now that’s good, but we have a one percent low of 86..

If you have a 1440p 144hz monitor and you are a competitive gamer and you want to play esports games like world of tanks, and you want that 144 frames per second well, you can turn the detail down to be sure, but the 2070 will not do it Here the 3070 does the average is over 200 frames per second but, most importantly, take a look at the one percent low, which is the right hand. Side number 137 frames per second, which is nearly 144.. So if you’ve got a 1440p 144hz monitor – and you want to have both beautiful graphics as well as fast graphics, a 30 70 is not overkill for world of tanks. Unless you want to turn the detail down, in which case a 2070 would be fine and a 1070 at minimum detail actually would probably come close. That gives me an idea. Let me know in the comment section: do you want to see a video where i normalize the frame rate for each game across four different cards and let you know what detail settings were required to get there? Can a 1070 run at 144 frames per second on the one percent low at 1440p? If you set it to minimum detail, can a 2070 do it at medium? Can a 970 do it at any settings, maybe 1080p minimum detail? Would it get 144 frames per? Second? Let me know in the comments below 96 frames per second average on the 970 that is completely and totally playable.

If you want the pretties in your casual player and 60 frames per second, is fine know the one percent low doesn’t hold 60, but if you’re a casual player, it’s fine set it to medium. If you want a little bit more 107 frames per second on the 1070 for a five-year-old card, i love that thing. If you’ve got a 1070 game. Selection is everything you don’t have to replace a 1070 you just maybe don’t want to play.

Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p. Ultra detail because it would suck the 2070 does 131 and 87 on the one percent low and the rtx 3070 blows the 2070 out of the water. And this exemplifies.

Why? If you could buy a 2070 for msrp, it would be the deal which you can’t. But if you could, that is a monster improvement. In fact, the one percent low of the 30 70 is higher than the average of the 2070.. Moving on to amd, i decided to do something a little bit different this time and include three cards with very similar performance and then one with a little bit of an extra boost.

The rx 598 gigabyte card is, in the upper left, hand corner the r9 390 x yeah, that’s an older one, but it’s a good one is in the upper right hand, corner the much newer, rx 5500 xt 8 gigabyte card is in the bottom left and then The much faster vega 56 is, in the bottom right hand, corner the first. Three cards have remarkably similar performance, as you can see, using the numbers on the screen right now. What’S interesting is amd, unfortunately, suffered from several years of rebranding, with more or less the same card with minor tweaks minor features and small performance improvements. The r9 290x hawaii xt card, the refresh r9 390 x, the rx 480, the rx 580, the rx 590 and then the rx 5500 xt are really kind of all the same card. No they’re, not the processors shrunk a little bit and they upgraded the vram.

The original 290 x’s came with four gigabytes of vram and there certainly are four gigabyte versions of the 480 and 580, but that kind of misses the point performance wise. All those cards are really kind of the same or they’re within 10 percent of each other and they’re all based on the same general design. Yes, i know the 5500 xt is navi in our dna, but yeah it isn’t any faster than the older cards. They’Re.

Almost interchangeable, the main benefits of the 5500 xt is lower power. Consumption versus the newer cards, but beyond that, it really kind of sort of provides the same overall experience. All of those cards are reasonable for these types of games. Games not meant to be the latest and greatest aaa extravaganza like cyberpunk. I keep mentioning that game, but there’s so many others that you can use it’s sort of the punching dog for performance in 2021.. The vega 56 does have legs if you’re playing these kinds of games and many of you own, a vega, 56 or 64, they were available for very reasonable prices for some period of time, and if you have one, the main compromise with those is the power consumption. They eat a lot of power and they make a lot of heat, but if you’re happy with it well take a look at the performance. 100 frames per second at 1440p.

Ultra detail is hard to argue with. I have not yet tested the new 6600 xt yet in world of tanks, but i can tell you the 6800 xt is a monster. 246 frames per second average with a 166 one percent low.

If you want to go up the scale, that kind of gives you a boundary box idea of how far up it goes on the amd side, taking a look at the chart here, you can see 74 75 and 73 frames per second average respectively between the 390x. The 590 and the 5500 xt with the vega 56 doing a hundred notice that the one percent low on the vega 56 is nearly as high as the average on the other cards. If you own the other cards – and you have no other options well, you can play games.

You can play games of 1440p. You can play games at 1440p. Ultra detail just don’t expect to run new games at those settings because world of tanks has actually been out. Now, for more than 10 years, as promised here is the gtx 1660 super results, 20 frames per second faster than the 1060.. It’S a nice bump, but if you had a gtx 1060 a 1660 super is not a mind. Blowing experience to go from 75 to 95.

It’S nice, but it’s not going to blow your skirt up. Instead, if you want to upgrade upgrade and even a 2060 wasn’t much of an upgrade, but a 3060 certainly would i don’t have 30 60 results for you here, but, needless to say, it easily cracks. 100 frames per second: did you like this video? Please give it a thumbs up, please be sure to subscribe.

Let me know in the comment section what games you’d like to see. Next, i do plan to take a break from the seven years of 70 series shortly and do some cpu comparisons. There’S been a lot of discussion about how much cpu should you be buying in 2021? Those of you who follow me on twitter and follow us on the discord certainly know all about that. I will be doing some cpu comparisons, but i can’t test every cpu on earth. So what maybe four cpus? Would you like to see compared? Maybe two newer? Two older: do you want to see four intel tested together? Do you want to see two amd and two intel? Let me know in the comment section below what games and what cpus you want to see compared full disclaimer, fair warning. I am not going to be testing i5 10 400 f’s using rtx 3060 graphics cards. It makes sense from a logical point of view, but not from a testing point of view, because then i cannot just pick and choose cpus to test with cpus are tested with the highest end graphics card available, and actually most of my cpu tests have been done With an rtx 3080 because i did not have access to a 3090 at the time, i started doing those tests about nine months ago, and so i just sort of stuck with the 3080 because for the purpose of cpu testing, it certainly does the job.

But no, i would not recommend putting an rtx 3080 on an i5 10 400 f. That would be really dumb or a ryzen 5 3600. Those should have more modest cards, so don’t ask for that, but you can ask for which cpus and which generations and which games you’d like to see tested and i’ll put them on a 3080 so that basically the graphics card is quote, not the performance limitation. Otherwise, we’re just testing graphics card performance and then we can see how well the cpus can breathe.

Putting mid-level cpus on mid-level gpus does tend to hold things back, but keep in mind. Graphics card upgrades are a five-minute process two years from now.
