Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “5 Smartphone Hacks (#2)”.
So welcome to my second episode of 5 smartphone hacks or basically show you five useful and cool things that you can do with your smartphone. So if you do enjoy the video be sure to smash that like button and any feedback would be greatly appreciated, so we’re gon na kick things off with a Jedi hand wave, and what this allows you to do is to wave your hand over the proximity sensor On your phone and the screen will just turn off looks like magic, but it’s actually quite simple to do so start by downloading the application called macro droid. It’S totally free turn it on, and then what we want to do is to create a macro of our own. So in the trigger category, select proximity sensor and any actions category make that turn the screen off. We also want to set two constraints that it only turns a screen off when the screen is on, which I know sounds like a bit of a dumb, obvious suggestion, but that’ll stop the proximity sensor constantly monitoring. While the screen is off saving you battery. So the next hack is going to restore that brand-new phone feeling, making your phone feel even better than the day you took it out the box and for this we’re using Smitty’s Glass Works, which is originally intended for the kind of glasses you wear on your face.
But it works here. The product also comes with a microfiber cloth and a pretty nice carrying pouch, and all you need to do once you buy. It is to basically put three drops on your smartphone, be generous and give it a whirl. You don’t need to let it soak in you just instantly wipe it on wipe it off and you’re good to go all of a sudden.
The phone will have this really nice shimmer to it, and your fingers will just glide across it. Each application will probably last you about a week or so, and you can genuinely tell the difference so the next one is incredibly simple, but you’d be amazed. How many people don’t know this so in newer versions of Android, instead of swiping down twice with one finger, you can actually swipe down once with two fingers to bring down the quick settings menu. It’S a super simple fix, but the number of times people do this. In a day, this could actually save you quite a lot of time.
So number four is something which is actually baked into, but hidden quite well, inside of most phones running Android, 6.0 and higher, and this is Google’s smart lock. So if you scroll through your settings and find the security tab, click on that and then there’s an option for smart lock, and what this allows you to do is to keep your smartphone unlocked based on certain criteria. So it could be on GPS.
Every time you get home, your smart phone will automatically unlock it could be triggered by a Bluetooth device. So even something as simple as placing a speaker near your smartphone can unlock it. But my favorite one is on-body detection, which uses the accelerometers to know when it’s being carried by you and or just keep itself unlocked so hack. Number five is something which I’m going to call true browser multitasking the ability to not interfere with the application you’re using, but at the same time, how full to the Internet. So for this we’re gon na use an application called Flinx. You can open up to 12 tabs at once and they automatically convert some into a reading mode, which not only saves you data, but also means the pages load up much faster for those websites that don’t support this compressed reading mode.
You can also load them up in a standard web format and that works great too, so guys there we have it. Those were five smart phone hacks, as it says quite a new series. Any feedback you can give me would be greatly appreciated and with that being said, if you did enjoy the video be sure to smash that like button, I understand, he’s the boss and I’m signing out .
