🔴NEW FIRESTICK UPDATE - 3RD PARTY APPS IMPACTED ?

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “🔴NEW FIRESTICK UPDATE – 3RD PARTY APPS IMPACTED ?”.
So Auto offload is now being rolled out to all of our Amazon. Five sticks: F, TVs, F, TV cubes. This is going to be a phased up, dat, which means slowly slowly over the next week or so all of your devices will actually get this new change. Now, what does a change actually do? Are your side loaded applications, your codes, your other favorite, third party, streaming applications? Will they be affected? How does this change actually work? Well, I can tell you straight away that none of your side loaded applications, if you downloaded something from my website or from your favorite YouTubers, any application – maybe you’ve installed it from a third party custom application store like APK time or appt TV. None of those applications are impacted by this change, so in that way the majority of us don’t really have anything to worry about, because the only applications are impacted by this are applications that you download from the official Amazon app store, and we can see it says Here that auto offload will remove some applications that haven’t been used on your device in the last 60 days without deleting the login credentials.

That’S really the key part that typically for most applications when you uninstall them, when you then want to reinstall them any of your credentials. Any of your custom settings your bookmarks, your favorites, if you’re using a debrid service, all of them have to be recreated, but with this feature, the process will retain that data and just remove everything else, and it just means that if you need to use the application In the future, one click you can then reinstall it and all of your custom settings your favorites, your credentials. All of them will be automatically restored on your device. Now this article was published yesterday on aftv news, which really is the best resource for anything Amazon related, and we can see that he previously wrote an article about this.

So we knew this feature was coming, and the key thing that this is trying to Target is the annoyance of managing space cuz. Typically, on most devices, they only come with 8 gig of storage once you’ve installed a few applications that really just runs out very very quickly, unless you have a f TV cube with 16 gig storage or, of course, the new second generation. 4K F stick Max, which I will be opening up very very soon. So if you guys want to see that video, where I’ll be answering all of the common questions like can you instore Sid load, can you install a custom launcher? Can you use a mouse toggle? How much storage do you get once you’ve installed the base operating system? All of those questions will be answered.

So if you guys are interested in that make sure you are subscribed with all notifications, and we can see that he’s saying that ever since the first Fire TV which came out in 2014, just removing an application was really the only way you could reclaim space on Your device, obviously you can clear out the cash of certain applications, But ultimately that cash does come back now, as I mentioned before, when you uninstall an application, and you want to reuse it, you then have to reconfigure all of those those application settings again, but what The app offload feature does is basically like a middle solution. It allows you to remove most of the components which are taking up space but allows you to keep that smaller user data portion, which has all of those settings, and here, for example, you just explains the differences with the app data, the user data and the cache. Now, in terms of where we see this, so if you go into your settings and go to Applications, you will see that by default the auto offload is set to on now. You may be wondering that, isn’t Amazon being a bit heavy-handed with this feature and why are they forcing this upon all of their users now? My response to that is you have to appreciate that the majority I would say more than 90 % of all Amazon fo.

Stick: users are novice users, basic users; they just want to use a device they’re not really classified as power users who want to tweak the devices who want to change launchers want to do modifications. They just want to use streaming applications and just use a device. So for those kind of users, this option makes perfect sense because they don’t have to mess about with storage or find out which applications are big hitters or which applications are not being used. This process will just find any application that hasn’t been used for 60 days and then just automatically offload it and again.

If they want to reinstall it because they decide they want to use it now, all of those custom settings those credentials will automatically be saved. So in that way, I do think this is a good feature for most users and of course, if you see yourself as a power user, then you can just go into the settings. Turn this option off, and it just means that you have to then go ahead and manage the storage on your device, manage the applications, uninstall applications. All of that control is with you, but do leave me a comment guys if you think this is something for a novice user. If you think they should be using it, or would you advise that all users should go ahead and turn this option off, and it’s definitely worthwhile mentioning again that this only applies to applications that you’ve downloaded from the Amazon App Store, so nothing that you’ve downloaded from My website, or from any third party resources or any third party application stores, none of those applications are affected. It’S purely just official Amazon apps, and if you don’t want to use an automated process, you can also go into any of the applications and think like.

I don’t want to use this right now, but again I do want to retain my settings my credentials. You can then go ahead and manually select offload, which will then complete that process for you and lastly, in terms of what the supported device is. Allias confirms that if you’re running fire OS 5, then unfortunately you’ll not be getting this new app offloading feature. It’S going to be your fire OS 6 7 and fire os8 devices.

They will take advantage of this new thing now, if on your device, if you want to check, if you have the latest update the easiest way to do, that is just go over to the Cog wheel on the right click on that get into where it says. Myi TV I can go to about, let’s click there and where it says check for updates. We can see on my device, I’ve checked the update and I’m still running 7.6.6 do4, and I don’t have this new app offloading feature directly on my device at the moment. So do leave me a comment below.

Let me know if your device has this new feature and if it is something that you’re going to use or if something that you’re just going to turn off straight away, because you think Amazon are being too heavy-handed. So do leave me a comment below, let me know and I’ll hopefully, catch up with you guys real soon. Thanks .
