Over 800 live TV channels that can now access directly on my device, all fully categorized, all working with a fully working program guide, showing me exactly what’s on now, what’s coming up next, I can enjoy it straight away. Now these channels have been added absolutely free. It doesn’t require me to have any kind of registration, no usernames, no passwords. We can see. We have channels from all of our favorite genres from Crime, TV classic TV reality, TV over 50 sports channels, game shows comedies and over 70 entertainment channels. So in this article today, let me show you how you can get all of these channels, including that fully working program guide on your devices. The process won’t take more than five minutes and you really can go ahead and enjoy some of the best TV content out there. So with all of that being said, let’s go if you’re new to the channel and you want to stay up to date with the latest tech tutorials, the latest fire stick Android and Android TV tips and tricks.
Then please do subscribe and hit the like button. It’S a small click from you, but it makes a big difference to me. Thank you. So here we can see on the official Google TV blog that they announced that you can discover more than 800 free channels with Google TV.
Google TV brings hundreds of free TV channels in one place, organizing them by Topic in an easy to use guide the electronic program guide. So you can see a completely official announcement and the great thing is this is now built in directly into your home screen on Android TV or Google TV now we’ll be doing a separate video for the Amazon devices on how you can have a similar setup directly On your home screen access, hundreds of free official channels again all with that fully working program guide. So if you are interested in that make sure you are subscribed with all notifications, so that’s the official press release there. So how can we now get this on? All of our devices now I’m based in the UK and typically these three official Services official channels normally offer the USA based audience only even if they offer a global audience, since normally they start in the USA and they slowly propagate to the other regions. In the other countries, but as we can see on my device, if I just jump over to my shield, we can see directly on the home screen. I now have this live tab.
If you don’t see this on your device, I will show you the step-by-step instructions on how I put this on my device. So hopefully you can follow the same instructions and get this on all of your devices as well. Now, when we start the live tab, we can see at the top. We can see a couple of different live TV channels, so everything from your CSI to your Murdoch, Mysteries to Stargate lots of very popular content, and you can see these are live channels. Let’S go down now. What they’ve done is they’ve actually broken these channels into different categories, so Google TV themselves we can see, are offering 39 different channels.
So if I go to the right – and we can now see these 39 different channels, so everything from Family Feud to divorce court to movies and more and because of that fully working program guide, I can see exactly what’s on now. What’S coming up next, for example, here we can see this is Patty’s Mexican Table, which I guess is some cooking program. If I press a select button on that, we can see straight away.
We are taken into that broadcast and, as this is a live broadcast, we joined the program about, I think, halfway through that’s working great and a great HD picture. That is, let’s press back and we’re taking back to that guide. So lots of different channels in here, but also what they’ve done is they’ve allowed you to integrate or aggregate the channels from other official applications.
So here we can see we have another 29 popular channels at the top. We can see these channels are being fed from 2B TV. So, for example, we can see you know Top Gun the movie. We can see uh Demolition Man and we can see this channel, for example, is coming from Pluto TV, so a great way for you to aggregate all of your official live TV channels from lots of different applications all inside your home screen through Google TV. So lots of different channels in here here we can see um CSI SpongeBob SquarePants Jeopardy. So this, for example, Jeopardy we can see, is being pulled from Pluto TV.
So when I press the select button that should launch Pluto TV as we can see it’s done – and it takes me straight into that episode and that’s working great now, if you don’t have these applications installed, you do actually get a prompt saying. This channel is available on 2B TV or Pluto TV, and it takes you straight to the Play Store, allowing you to then install that missing application, but we can see on my device. I already installed Pluto TV as well as 2B TV. Let’S go back, then: you’ve got movie channels 62, so movies from Pluto keep going down movies from 2B TV from Google TV lots of different things.
Let’S go to the left, then you have news and opinion so lots of different news channels. In here you have crime. You have hit TV shows classic TV reality Sports, so you got some MLB in here. You’Ve got some a Champions League you’ve got some MMA college football, United fight Alliance, football Classics, uh lots of different things.
You got game, shows 13 channels, comedy 32 channels, so you’ve got Comedy. Central you’ve got sitcom Legends, so you can see guys a vast Library lots of different, varied content that you can enjoy directly from the home screen. You’Ve got 71 entertainment channels, so you got uh different drama shows different sci-fi British Classics yeah, so just lots and lots of different content all built in all with that fully programmed guide that you can now enjoy on your Android TV or Google TV okay. So that’s all of the content there over 800 channels to uh browse to check out.
So how do we now get this on our device as well? If I press home, we can see on my device that a live tab is there now? What if that live tab, wasn’t there? How do we do it? Well, the two things we need to do to bring this live tab up straight away. If you don’t want to wait for the rollout to happen or to come to you, firstly, the way I did it on my device was, I created a free, Gmail account and just set the address as a USA address, so you can see here at the top. We can see, I should have two accounts completely free accounts in Gmail.
One is my standard account, and this is the one I use to for USA application so so step number one was to create this free Gmail account with the USA address and log into that. Okay, so let me now remove this live tab. Let me then restart my video shield and, let’s see if I can now bring this live tab back on my device.
So we can see now on my Nvidia Shield Pro we don’t have the live TV tab anymore. All I can see at the top is just home, discover and apps. Now, how can we bring that live TV back? Well? Firstly, I’m going to select my USA account, so I click on this. That’S now selected. If I now open up ipvanish, I’m just going to make a connection to a server in New York, let’s do that now, I’m now connected, I now have a new IP address, which is a USA based IP address. If I now press the home key home again, we can see still no live Tab and this is not the key part.
So if I now go over to the settings, let’s click on that. Let’S go down into apps. Let’S now see all apps. Let’S click on that, I can now scroll to the bottom of this list. My list is quite long because I’ve installed quite a few test. Applications and I’ve not wiped my shield for a while, so go to the bottom of this list, and we now see show system apps. This is what we’re looking for. Let’S now click on that okay, so we do have a couple of things in here that we can potentially stop, but I think the main one is the TV home and also the core services.
So let’s stop the core Services full, stop. Okay, that’s now full stop and you can see straight away now guys in the background. We now have that live tab, so I can now press back and even though I’m based in the UK, I can now go over to live, and now I have access to over 800 official channels from Google TV, as well as from other free official applications. That can now access on my Nvidia Shield, so that’s pretty much his video guys.
